Nice weekend

We had a delightful holiday weekend. Spent Saturday at my brother's. He made a paella dinner which is his traditional Mother's Day meal. I was away camping that weekend and he was kind enough to make it for us Saturday. It was a delicious meal. We had our usual political discussions following the meal. We have to have neutral conversation while eating. House rules. But afterwards. WHEW. My older brother(not the one hosting the event) is very much a liberal and my uncle is a staunch Republican. Everyone is usually well informed and likes to debate. It always makes for an interesting, fun-loving evening. Good food, good family, good times. Thanks, Bob

Fierce looking storm! Out here in the Midwest we don't like the looks of those things! (Too many trips to the basement over the years...)

OK - oops - I was referring to the picture of your weather, next post up. My referral to a "fierce looking storm" and storming off to the basement does not refer to your political "conversation".

Ben-sometimes our debates feel like a fierce storm. My family is politically well read and opinionated. Lightening and thunder seem to reverberate around the room sometimes. But like a good storm, it always seem clear and calm at the end. We never agree but enjoy the good debate.

Margaret- Calm, quiet Uncle Bernard becomes a hot headed Republican who loves to argue. You wouldn't recognize him. He always tells me how much he looks forward to it. Still going strong at 87.
